Image Background Remover privacy policy

Image Background Remover removes photo backgrounds.

Data processing

The workspace holds photos and results; Chrome storage keeps preferences, verification flags, rating state, Improve consent, Improve token, install-count ID and quota status. Each tier's weight file gets its pinned SHA-256 check at first run. Verification flags are not a security, privacy or quality guarantee.

Improve

After confirmation, Improve sends one re-encoded JPEG, without EXIF, GPS, ICC or the original filename, to the hosting provider of the Improve service for segmentation. Improve is per photo; there is no batch Improve. The token counts 10 per install per 30 days and limits abuse. Processing may occur outside your country; consent and performing the requested feature are the legal bases.

Retention

Closing or clearing releases images; uninstall removes settings; footer withdrawal deletes Improve consent and token. Logs record time, token prefix, size, outcome and duration; counters expire 40 days after the last successful Improve, daily totals after 3 days, monthly totals after 70 days; the provider logs connection metadata and may cache results for an unpublished period.

Analytics

The welcome page and the hosted goodbye and rating pages carry analytics used to count installs and removals by country. The welcome page's request goes through this site, which derives the country from the connection and stores nothing.

Feedback

Ratings of 1-3 stars open the rating page; 4-5 open Chrome Web Store reviews once configured. Chrome may open the goodbye survey after removal; optional feedback goes to the publisher through Telegram.
